These are the people/events that I consider have made a significant impact on my life and beliefs.

I have not included family or friends and associated events.

The Beatles were my youth and brought with them the joy of living in the sixties which has never left me. A recent special assembly at the local primary school featured two songs - Yellow Submarine & Octopus's Garden - enough said!

To me John Lennon was The Beatles, I identify with him the most and will never forget his wit, writing and music.

The assassination of John F Kennedy scarred me forever, he was the bearer of the torch for the new generation although it is difficult to assess how different life would be if he had not been assassinated; his assassination has lived on in my psyche, I still suspect a conspiracy...

Wherever my best mate Will and I were in the early/mid sixties, we would always ensure that we were back at his parent's flat to watch Dave Allen, we loved his humour and his closing statement 'may your god go with you' has been a significant tenet in my life.

Apollo 11 and the moon landing is the kind of event that later generations will say 'I wish I could have seen it' - and there are people who believe it didn't happen! To me it really was a 'giant leap for mankind'.

911 - the twin towers was a step change in man's inhumanity to man; to fly planes full of innocent people into office blocks of innocent people represents the worst in mankind; and these perpetrators and their kind complain that their human rights are being abused.

Finally - last but certainly not least…

I will never forget Brigitte Bardot, she was my awakening to the beauty of woman.
